Nominations for Producer Representative – Australian Farmers’ Markets Association

The Australian Farmers’ Markets Association has announced that nominations are being accepted for a Producer Representative on the AFMA committee. Each state has been asked to submit two nominations for the position.

From AFMA:

“The Producer Representative is intended to represent the views, needs and issues facing food producers active in farmers markets.

They should be an active farmer/food producer stall holder of farmers markets on a regular basis.

Desirable additional skills include for example membership on other allied primary agriculture production organisations, leadership and advocacy skills.

The Producer Representative member is expected to attend at least quarterly AFMA committee meetings or extraordinary meetings as required via teleconference.

They will support AFMA initiatives and strategies as required drawing from their skills base and contributing experience in the farmers market and primary production sectors.

In return, the Producer Representative member will have the opportunity to gain new and diverse insights into the farmers markets sector, meet other state sector representatives, and partake in occasional national activities and meetings.”

Nominations to AFMA close on 12th December 2018.

To allow time for the FMANSW committe to consider all nominations and make our selection of two candidates, please send your one-page profile to office@fmansw.org.au by close of business Monday 10th December.
